Learning to say NO

WOW, First off, Happy New Year to all of you! I sorta took a LONG time off from blog land, because I do not know how to say NO when asked to help at school or anything else :) I am learning to say NO, let's see how that goes.. Anyway.. with saying NO, you learn that you "free" up a LOT of time to do the things you want to do, and that are on your list... and your project table.. and every other table in the house, in my case :) I am putting my house back to gether from what looks like a crazy person was living here, with way too many projects and way too many "sure I can help with that".. So I have been busy getting new things to the shop, working on Valentine's Day things and I have to say.. saying NO is NICE!

Here are a few things I have been able to do since learning the word NO!

And the best for last.. This is Sam.. he is the brother of Macy's friend.. Since it was too cold outside to "sell" lemonade.. he brought out his piano and decided to play for tips.. Isn't that too cute?

He plays beautifully and is the sweetest kid around!

Well back to saying "NO" and getting things done.. I need a good organizational blog.. Any suggestions? My life and house could use a good organized sweep!

BEST Cinnamon Roll Recipe EVER!

This is the BEST Homemade Cinnamon Roll Recipe EVER! This is from The Pioneer Woman and your family will have a new found respect for you after you make these!

My sweet dear friend Tracey made these for my family and dropped them off the other day, they were warm, smelled like what I think Heaven smells like :) and they were super yummy! What I did not tell her, is that they were gone in minutes.. mostly by me and my husband.. I am making these today and I have to tell you, they will become a favorite in your house like mine. I have had this recipe for a while, and have The Pioneer Woman's book, but never have I made them.. DUMB! They are sooo good.. So go try them, trust me you will be in love!

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday with your families.. We sure did and were so busy, that I just dropped out of blog land for a bit to enjoy the family.

I am back now and ready to re-stock my shop, and my online store too.. I have started to work in Valentine's day, as I am learning you cam't start early enough!

Pinterest Lampshade and Shows

Well here is my first Scrap Fabric Lamp Shade.. Found this on Pinterest and loved it.. It was a little more time consuming than you might think.. but I think it turned out great.. My 10 year old daughter's friend is dying to have this, so I guess it really must be "cool"

I have to say, it is really colorful and it was fun to make and a great use of scraps!

I also have been making a few of these little gift sets for little girls.. A purse and a scarf out of fleece

Made these years ago and thought I would bring them back again.

Fleece is soooo pretty! I will have these at the upcoming shows I have this weekend and next week.

Since Desperate Housewives was not on Sunday night I sat and made about 50 of these little things.. Some are for headbands, some for purses and some for pins They are not finished yet, but close to it!

I also made about 70 of these little things.. I love them.. Soon to be headbands. as well.

Be Thankful

Just few things to reflect on this Thanksgiving...

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

I don't know if you are hosting dinner or going to someone's house.. Trust me I know it can get crazy with kids in tow, trying to clean your house, run to the store for 10 things you forgot and trying to make it nice for others.. we forget to stop and enjoy the day.. I do this and I was doing this, until today. I am choosing to slow down, trust I will get done what needs to get done and just be happy. I want my kids to remember fun Holidays, not the ones where they say "oh, yea, my mom was a complete nut during the holidays :)" So I am slowing down and having fun too.

I want to wish all who read my little blog, a very Happy Thanksgiving. If you know of someone spending it alone, invite them over, or make a plate of food for a neighbor that is alone and take it over to them. Start a new tradition, go around your table and have everyone say 3 things they are Thankful for.. We have done this for a few years and it is my favorite time of the day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, great food and makes some fun memories to look back on.

It is a strange collection.. but one I love and a cheap one.. I go through drawers and cabinets at estate sales and flea markets too..

I have them stored in plastic to keep them clean and damage free

And I have talked myself into actually "using" them.. I used a few at Christmas one year and made it very clear they were NOT to be thrown away, lol.. I had a bowl on the dessert table for them to be placed in, so I could use them again! I'm hoping these 4th graders understand Mrs. Hyatt's crazy obsession with these today and obey the rules, lol.. Just Kidding...

Here is Macy's list she left me of things to "Remember".. I love the last one... to give Sampson a treat.. She loves that dog.

Here is an awesome idea.. I found this at a local shop in Milford and loved it.. It's an old window with "Give Thanks" on it.. It will be around till after Thanksgiving..

Found this adorable little light up ghost there too.. I mean how flippin cute is this and easy to make too!

And my FAVORITE for last.. my new light from Pottery Barn.. thanks to my Mom! I love it.. It is beautiful in my livingroom.. which I am still tweaking..

New furniture before and after

This is what my livingroom looked like before, well one end..

And this is after.. SO far.. We have out grown one sofa and one chair, so we needed a sectional.. We foundt his at IKEA, my favorite place! Last night it was delivered.. We had it all the way against the wall, my husbands idea, but it was like a bowling alley in there.. So I pulled it out.. I am NO where near done.. and you will see why...

This is without the flash.. I am still working on moving pictures.. but I wanted to give a sneak peak.. SO far I love it! Trust me my husband will HATE that I moved it away from the wall.. Why do MEN think all furniture has to be against the wall? And yes.. Sampson does approve of the new sofa :) Still need more pillows.. that is LAST on my list.

Then I turn around and WHAM, look what I see.. The other end of the room.. YES that TV is my husbands new toy.. It is going on the white stand in the front.. I feel it is TOO big for the room, but he wants it.. I think I am going to move the curtain rods up near the ceiling and more to the sides to make the window look big and the TV smaller (is that possible) and not like a black hole in my livingroom! Well back to getting it done.. I will take finished photos soon! This is a LOT of work, but a lot of fun.. Give me your opinions.. I want to hear them.

Girl Scout Picture Wall

Our Girl Scout Leaders are the BEST.. Look at his WALL, it is a side of a building here in Madeira. All there pictures were taken, and then pasted to the building as works of art.

That is my sweet girl in the middle...

All the photos were done in black and white.. And I LOVE them all!

The girls learned about a famous artist who would take photos of people and then paste them on the sides of buidlings.. Which artist? good question.. I have NO idea..lol.. that was the one detail I forget to get for this post.. sorry!

But look how neat this is! WE have had cars drive by and stop.. classmate stop to take a peek.. Everyone loves it!

And my childhood life long best Friend Diann (aka Boo) had her first baby.. Jack..I am in love! He is so sweet, has that sweet baby smell and I just loved holding him! My friend and her husband are just glowing and so happy.

My Carly holding and Hogging Jack! Congrats Boo.. He is beautiful and has the most Beautiful mom in the world! How blessed he is!

Hope you all are having a great week.. Our Harvest Fest was a HUGE success and I am so glad it is over! Now I am getting my house back in order.. and getting ready for my new sofa on Thursday.

Amazing Before and Afters

This week is a crazy week for me.. Our Annual Harvest Festival at the elementary school.. I have been super busy getting stuff done for this event, but in my "me" time, I found the best ever "Before and Afters" on pinterest.. They will make you think.. "why didn't I think to do that?"

OK, we all come across these dressers.. I have one in my garage right now. and one I just finished.. but I wish I had doen this to it..

You can bet no more will pass one up that has the drawers missing.. LOVE this!!!! Want this!!!!!

AMAZING! My Dog would LOVE this bed.. That is the coolest dog bed I have ever seen!

And you remember this wonderful bedding? I am almost finished with it.. I am LOVING it too..

I just made my first batch of Cake Batter Rice Krispie Treats and they are super yummy... It won't be my last.. Go to pinterest and type in Cake Batter Rice Krispie, you will LOVE them too!

New Shop Pictures

OK, so I have been missing for a bit, and this is why.. I expanded a little in one shop and I have been busy sewing and re-doing furniture.. Here are some pictures of the shop spaces.

Here are the chairs I did not the before of.. They were just dark brown and scratched up.. but the cane is in excellent shape!

The mirror is not mine and I think I may move it.. and expand my aprons with the holidays coming up.

I need to put my rug in, hang up more stuff and take the rest of my inventory down.. It will be packed in about two weeks!

This is the other shop I have things at, right next store.. We are the same shop, but I put more of my "sewing" stuff in one and more furniture in the other one.. The pretty white furniture is the handy work on my awesome husband who helps me do it all!

I figured out how to make these prints.. I will so a tutorial on this in about two weeks.

My girls favorite office chair.. which if it does not sell, will come back home with me. We are in the middle of switching out our furniture and re-doing our basement.. It is a huge MESS in short.

No sooner did I get these pictures done, the bookcases sold and I helped the lady take them out.. Then I had to redo the booth again :) I'm not complaining at all!

This was my husbands idea! I love it, not that anyone in my house would actually obey this :)

Don't ask me why, but I just love these old bottles.. Maybe because they remind me of my childhood, or just the graphics. I know a few are about to become a birthday gift for a dear old friend who will Just love these!

This actually rolls up and is the coolest little thing.. I have had it for years and really just don't use it..

I have been so busy lately.. working on our Fall Family Festival for our elementary school, soccer games for two games, dance class for the girls and trying to keep the shop stocked too. I am expanding to a biger space in one shop.. I am moving in slowly today,lol ad as I finish up some more works. If I remember to take my camera I will take photos, lol..

Now off to finish up the cushions for the Chairs I posted last week, then off to the shop.

I have been a bad blogger lately.. busy with school stuff for the kids, I did manage to find this great subway sign for $22.00 at Home Goods,but I have been so busy, the blog took a back seat!

Speaking of seats.. take a look at these chairs I found.. I know I am terrible at taking before photos but they were a dark brown.. I am in the process of making new chair cushions and I promise to take photos of the finished product..

I have squeezed in a few sales here and there.. found some awesome old fabric scraps at a sale around the corner. These were mostly old clothes the lady had saved because she loved the fabrics..I bought a few, all for $3.00 and then washed them up.

This is Navy blue and white and was part of a dress..

And this sweet little number was a vintage dress made back in the 40's or 50's by Designer Mollie Stone.. LOVE it.. she will be displayed on one of my ladies with an apron around her dress :)

I am expanding my space at the Mercantile. I will down there this weekend working on that and getting it stocked for the Holidays. Lots of great items going in the shop weekly, so if you live close, stop by. I am hoping to get my esty shop re-stocked by next weekend. I promise to take photos of my shop space too. This is a sneak peak at some new things I am working on. I will show you the rest this week.

Hope everyone has been doing great. I have to tell you.. WOW having a kid in High School play a high school sport is an eye opener for me. The daily time and games.. What was I complaining about before when he played Rec Soccer? Geez! He is having a great time and making some wonderful new friends and he is happy, so that is all that matters.

Also I went out Saturday night with some friends from High School, we danced, laughed and had a wonderful time.. before this night, I had considered doing a Zumba class, thought it would be fun and really how hard can dancing be? Well let me tell ya! OUCH, I feel like I was in a car wreck, my sides and back are killing me! LOL..I have figured out why those girls are loosing so much weight and look great, dancing uses a TON Of muscles that when your 22 you don't notice! So this sore old woman is re-thinking Zumba :) I'm staring to think I am just fine the way I am, and my love of Chocolate cake is alright!

Anyone else tried Zumba? What did you think?

Vintage Lace

Don't you just love old lace? I simply can not pass it up and I try to put as much as I can with the things I sew.

I've done a few of these, this one is not mine, but Look how beautiful it is with the lace added to it

I love this idea of taking a piece and making it into a necklace. Clever idea and what a great use for your wedding dress in your closet..

I can't make enough of these, I love them.

And one day I will try this.. Beautiful.

Hope everyone has been super busy and in great health. I have a major strained back and I am in pain! I live on the heating pad and sitting at the computer for more than 10 minutes kills me. I have been standing up to sew, and it actually is alright. Guess time will heal it.

I have a show this Friday for Ladies Night at Purcell Marian High School.. I am busy this week getting ready for that and hoping my back holds out! Not a good thing that I hurt it now when I have one show a month, plus the shop to keep up on, plus the kids school and sports! I'm starting to think that sleep is over rated and I will do plenty of that when I am old!

Well back to sewing and school meetings for the kids. Oh and THANK YOU for all the help with the glue, I found a cure and it is working perfectly! I love all you blog ladies and how we all help each other out! It's a never ending sea of Girlfriends all across the globe!

Some jewelry help and Advice

OK all you crafty ladies out there I need some advice and help.
A while ago I made a few of these:

My problem? I can't get them to stay on the little blank bracelet thingy.. I have tried E6000 glue and they pop off the next day. Any adive? I three sold, but I dont' want to just give them back only to have them pop right back off again.. Any help would be appreciated..

That brings me to my next topic.. Help.. I have had several people email me about things and ask how I did something or what method I used and I Always happily offer advice. I don't understand the few I have emailed about this, only to send me back Nasty emails telling me to figure it out on my own.. Mean ladies!!!

So if any of my NICE Blogger Buddies know what I can do to make these stay on better, I would appreciate your help!

WOW, is this the coolest thing ever or what? I am always looking for things to do with my sraps of fabric. I LOVE this map! Found it on pinterest, but the tutorial of how to do it is here I am going to have to get my girls to help me with this and make one of these for family room. I am crazy for anything that uses scrap fabric.

I am in LOVE with this bedding.. No way can I afford it, it is from Anthropologie.. I found a great blog where the gal could not afford it either so she made her own..I went today and found my grey fabric.. Used my joann's coupon and this will be my winter project..Want to know how to make this for your bedroom? Go here to find out.. What a great tutorial.. Don't you just love Blog Land?

Thrifting and Garage Sale finds

SO I have been thrifting and garage saling this weekend.. Found some FAB things.. This Mechanics Creeper is going to made into a coat rack.. Just taking off the wheels, adding some vintage hooks and a hanger on the back and she is done..

Found this awesome old light fixture for a dollar.. I loved the glass and just the whole thing.. Great with a battery tea light in it.

Great old leather bench.. Just need to tighten up the feet and throw on some cool pillows I made and it will be ready for the shop.

This is not old, but I painted it white, added some glass votives and candles and it makes a great centerpiece.

This was cute, not old, but One can NEVER have too many laundry hampers with kids in the house!

Loved this old took tote.. The wood is great.

Found this desk for $5.00.. Painting it white and adding a stool and it will be ready to go.

This is one of those things you keep walking back too. MY rule is if I go back twice, I buy it, I love the old graphic and the clocks works too.. Just painting the frame and down to the shop she goes.

I need to be in a support group for old windows.. Really.. It is sad! And I found a great old sturdy wooden basket.. Yes, Yes Yes.. painting this one white, or grey.. have not decided.. But definatley making a liner for it too.

You can't go wrong with old drawers or wooden boxes.. Love the dark wood.. yes the girls who paints it all white, loves dark wood too, sometimes :) Add a ton of old lace and doilies and this gal was happy!

I was only to grab like three jars, but the man told me take the whole box for a dollar.. So I did :)

The two old baskets and the teddy bear were great finds.. Soon to be shoe baskets and magazine holders.. I also found two great old doors from cabinets, which I am making signs out of.

Set of Italian stacking tables in MINT condition.. Love these!

A table someone had made, but still I loved it.

And old pop bottles.. I found a yard sale that had so much MAN stuff.. I ended getting a few bottles because I love the graphics on them.. and they remind me of my childhood..I think they would be cute on a table used as bud vases..

I mean look at that.. The man taught me how to tell how old they are and here's some trivia for ya.. On every old Sprite bottle, there is a National Park on the bottom of the bottle.. Had NO idea..

Also found some of these old bottles.. Soon to be cleaned up, add some lace and vintage jewelery and clock faces and they will be at the shop too.. Two are two very old hard to find lavender color bottles.. Love them too.

And lace and doilies.. Really when is enough enough?

Here is a dresser we are getting ready to work on.. A chair heading to the shop and chandelier waiting for the prisims to be put on..I was too embrassed to show you the rest of the garage, lol.. It's sad! I am stocking up as Garage Sale season will soon be over and I need a good supply to get me through the winter.. Well to keep Paul busy that is :)

OK, this is my favorite.. The pictures are terrible, sorry.. I found an old sewing machine at the junk store that did not work well.. So I painted it white (big shock) and I am taking it to the shop to use for display in my sewing booth.

It turned out so much better in person.. I will try to get a better shot.. Well the first week of school is done, everyone loves it.. My son loves playing on the JV soccer team and being in High School (how did that happen?) They are all spending the night at friends houses and for the first time in 14 years my husband and I will have the house to ourselves! Hope you all are having a great week and weekend.. College Space Saver Pocket Curtain

My niece Olivia, left for college this morning... I remember when that sweet little girl made her way into the world.. I can't believe she is off to college and a new phase of her life.. Feels like I am letting one of my own go.. Anyway.. She has little space in her dorm room. She had this wonderful idea to cover her closet door with a curtain full of pockets for all her hair things etc.. the little things we ladies leave all OVER the dressers.. Well with no dresser space what do you do in a dorm room?

We started with a white shower curtain and added some fun..

Lots of color and lots of USE!

The old denim pockets are great too!

Antique lace and grey polka dots...

We also personalized her towels.. I made tags to sew onto the towels that were fun and hip.. She loved them.

Very easy to spot your towels with these tags :) I wish I had a picture of Olivia to put on here.. but she promised to send a photo of the curtain hanging in her dorm room. I'm just telling myself she is on a long sleepover.. Where does the time go?

This was the morning in my backyard last week.. It was so pretty and peaceful and for once I had batteries in my camera! My son, steals them for his xbox controller! Hope you having a great day.. Back to School

We have been busy last week getting ready for school.. We are making a few of these fabric bookmarks.. too cute.

These are not mine, but I made some of these for the shop last year and they went over pretty well.. Think I will make a few more of these for the shop.

I am in LOVE with this table runner.. Going to try to get a few of these made.

Made some new headbands for my girls for school, from Happy Together's tutorial..

And I just LOVED this old picnic table I found on Pinterest..

We are spending this last week of summer having fun, getting organized for school, cleaning out closets and rooms and swimming.. Next week my kids go back to school, so I will be back in FULL swing.. Lots of projects half finished. Enjoy your last days of summer!

My first Stained Glass Window & Friday Finds

Here it is the finished product.. I took a class at my sister in laws art studio.. LOVED IT!

Here is the flip side of the window.. but I can't decide if I like the brown or white side better.. What do you suggest?

What an easy thing to make.. Get any old window.. and broken glass.. Most of the stuff we used came from Ebay. You just use craft glue, glue it onto your window in any design you want and let it dry for a few hours.

Then go in with grout.. I just did plain white, and then grout your window... That easy.

Now I wanted an "H", but I also wanted a patchwork sorta feel too.. I really like it A LOT!

Yesterday I had to go and get a new charger for my ipad.. well I HAD to stop at Pottery Barn and they had some great pillows on clearance, really cheap.. So I snagged a few.

Then I went into Macy's.. I don't normally shop there but I had a gift card and went in.

Look at this Beautiful Lace, cream and grey scarf I found..

It just spoke to me, so I bought this with my gift card.. Actually I bought a few

This is my new inspiratin piece for my bedroom, that has NEVER really been done since we moved.. These scarfs are going to be my new window treatments... Too pretty!

On my way to work, I HAD to stop at a garage sale.. Found this cute blue bird rusty tin, for 25 cents..

New Pillows and Totes

So yesterday I was able to finally get some sewing done! Now my house looks a tornado went through here, but I guess you have to let it go, to get things done :)

Here are a few pillows I got done.. The aprons are getting final touches and I will show those tomorrow

This fabric is soooooo pretty in person.. My pictures are terrible.. Sorry for that.

I found this fab fabric at JoAnn's in the "designer" section..

I can't get enough of the old quilts.. I put them on totes (see below) and pillows anything I can find.

All those old yummy feed sack fabrics.. Love them!

I also am in LOVE with Anna Maria Horner's new fabric line! I made these for the shop, but have some ready to go on my sofa as well.

Here are the totes I have been making. I just love how simple but pretty they look with the old quilt squares.. You can NEVER have enough bags! :)

And here is the sweet little statue I found at an antique shop a while back.. I just thought she was so sweet, so I brought her home with me. She has no markings so I have no idea what it is or who made it, but I just liked her.

Hope you are having a great day and staying cool! I hate to complain about the heat after the nasty COLD winter we had, but come on! Just one or two days of cooler weather will be nice so I can finish up some outdoor painting and projects.. PLEASE :)

Citranella Candle Make Over Mod Podge

OK, so we have all seen just about anything and everything under the sun Mod Podged.. Well what about those ugly but really needed Citranella Candles?

I started with these, that I bought at Walmart for abuot $4.99 each.. I peeled off the sticker

Used the outdoor Mod Podge and some scraps ( of coarse)

And went to work.. I am so tired of these candles being ugle! I want something pretty to keep the bugs away..

I used put a layer of Mod Podge on the candle first, then layed my fabric over that.. then put another coat of Mod Podge over the fabric to seal and protect it..

I Love how they turned out!

OK, so I had to decorate the lid too.. It was speaking to me.. :) Now I have pretty candles to put on my table outside, when I can stand to be out there. I am making more to take to the shop too.. If you make some, send me the photos..

I also found this FAB picture at JoAnn's. I HAD To have this for my sewing room.. This pretty much sums up all that I love!.. OK, well not all, but you get the idea..

Vacation Finds

Well I have to say that unpacking from vacation is NO where near as much fun as packing!

But I did manage to find a few great things on our trip.. I ~~LOVE~~ am obsessed with old cameras... And quilt pieces!

Found some wonderful lace trims for my aprons and other sewing and non sewing projects

I love old canning jars too. This one is great as it is a pitcher and I just had to have this one.

I LOVE old sheet music.. Now I frame mine.. I have sold a lot at the shop and I have some ready to hang in my bathroom too.

It really does make great art work for your walls.. or is great for the music lover in your life.

See, this is just a SMALL smaple of the old cameras I have found and have on display around my house!

And lastly this old table I found for 99 cents at the thrift shop.. it was the UGLIEST brown ever.. but thanks to my husband, it is now crisp white and in our livingroom.. It was going to the shop, but we both decided we liked it to much, so it is staying..

We just got back from Patoka Lake in Southern Indiana.

Private Blogs....

Have you ever ran across that while blogging,

This blog is open to invited readers only????

Why would you take a public blog and suddenly hide it from the world?

Well to me there are only a few reasons you would choose to have a private blog...
1. You want just your family to read it.
2. It's a private journal which why would you want to put that on public view?
3. Your in hiding.

What is wrong with invited readers only?
Well in my opinion it is a blog suicide, lol.. I mean why would you put the work into your blog, add all your little favorite blogs, post your daily things and what you are making, selling, crafting.. and then have a private blog? I mean who is going to read it? Who is going to take the time to click on that person's blog when they come across it and it says " by invite only"? I know I would not put any effort into trying to get "oked".
You blog because you want to share, you want to meet people... I don't get how you have a once public blog and then all of a sudden it's private, :)

So is it me or what are your thoughts on people have "private" blogs? Are they being super sneaky? Or what? What would you do if ran across a private blog? Would you take the time to ask to be invited to read it? Post me your thoughts.. I would love to hear what you all have to say and what you think.

Stool and coffee sack makeover

I found a pair of these old stools at the thrift shop.. I LOVED them!

A friend of mine gave me a ton of Coffee Sacks.. and I used them to cover the stools.

Some of my pictures did not turn out, but you get the look.. They turned out wonderful.. To the shop they go...

I also found some awesome new fabric at JoAnn's and I lOVE it too..

I think I may cover a bench and make some tote bags ad maybe a table runner, hmmmm

We also got up super early and went fishing this morning for a while.. Jake caught a fish and so did Macy

This lake near our house is WONDERFUL and our new favorite place.. We are taking Sampson tomorrow.

This boy would stay on the lake and fish ALL day and ALL night.. and he was such a help to me and Macy...

What is Summer to you?

To us Summer is: Going away to camp for a week, for the first time...

Sitting in my favorite chair out back, with a good book and cool drink...

Watching my kids play outside and make forts out of lawn chairs, and towels...

Having a deer come by as you are in your fort, and my favoite.. hanging clothes on the line

Filling up a new garbage can and making your own pool for an hour.

Bobbing for apples, or just dunking your head in there..

Having a friend over and having a great day!

Having a fire out back and smores.

And a family friendly game of wiffle ball.. At which I realized that I am WAY out of shape, woke up sore and realized that this girls body, who is over 40, needs to start doing some exercises to get in shape, OUCH! Hope you all are enjoying your summer days.. I am working on some projects to hopefully get done this week and post.. Enjoy your day!

Baby Deer, A Bunny, A crazy Squirrel and Poor Sampson

In our back yard.. we have this wonderful Doe that comes each year to eat.. We have named her Momma. She brings her babies each year and we can't wait to see them.. This year.. there are some very hungry bunnies that want to share in the feeder...

Momma does not mind the bunny.. but the babies are a little curious..

They are getting a little closer to take a peek

When the bunny runs off, they all back up a little scared...

Then back to eating.. and one who spied me in the window

And as they ran away due to the crazy noises going on in another tree.. it was all because of this crazy squirrel..

Who had found an empty peanut butter jar in my garbage and was helping himself

Yes, his head in the jar.. He was going to town on this jar..

And while all the crazy wildlife is going on outside.. poor Sampson is in the house resting from his surgery on Tuesday.. He had a skin tag on his chest removed and is doing much better and will soon be back to his normal self. Isn't he sweet? Feel better buddy!

Well I spent my 4th in the sewing room..

We have partied all weekend and it rained in the morning, so I thought I would get caught up again..

I've been making some cards to sell at the shop and they seem to be moving well.

I just like that they are simple and I am using my scraps!!

They are great for anything... Write your own personal message in side...

This is one of my favorites.. Love the color's of this one.

I decided to do a few sets of place mats too.. I am working on more of those and also a few table runners as well.

Since I should be in rehab for my obsession over vintage jewelry, I decided to do something with it all..

I also have been dying to make some of these bracelets.. Not sure if these will leave my house, as I LOVE them, but I think I will be making a few of these for the store as well...

Sorry for the "rant" yesterday with my post... Sometimes you need to just get things out and boy do I feel so much better :) Hey, that's what a blog is for right? It's can't be all fun and games, that is not real life and I am all about real life! :) I get to have lunch with two of my dearest, oldest (younger than me) friends.. take my dog to the vet for a minor surgery and then come home to get my girl Carly ready for her week at camp next week.. yes it will take us a week to pack as this is the FIRST time she will ever be at camp, but she is so excited and I am excited for her.. Copy Cats, Ouch

So I know this is NOT a subject everyone will talk about.. and one I seem to be reading about more and more on blogs..

What do you do when you click on a site and low and behold there are "your" ideas, posted on someones site and they are taking FULL credit for it?

What I want to do is shoot them a mean nasty email.. calling them names I should not put in type, but I do refrain from that..
I am not sure about you, but I think it is wrong. I think if we put up a tutorial and tell people how to make what we just made, then yes go ahead make it, post it, but do the right thing and give the credit of the idea to the Blogger you found it at.
If you are like me sometimes I forget where I found a picture at, and I always say "if this is yours, please let me know so I can give you the credit".

I have read that some people say it is just someone who loves your work, well maybe so.. but I also think some people need to come up with their own ideas.. I think if these same few people had an idea of their own, then saw it on another site, with someone taking FULL credit for it, they would FLIP OUT!

So what do you do? Well I think letting people know that the idea was NOT originally yours, shows you are an honest person.. I also think if you are planning on selling the item, you need to get the person's permission first, fair is fair.. Little do you know the item may have a copyright to it, and you could be getting yourself into a lot of trouble. Also please know your copyright laws.. And the simple fact that it showed up on another blog, that is dated.. shows it was NOT your idea first and can easily be proved!

And most importantly don't sell it in the person's back yard!!! If you live across the world, or a few states away and there is NO way that the same people that shop your stuff will be shopping this persons stuff, then by all means if this person agrees then sell away.. but DON'T take credit for an idea YOU did not come up with and completely copy every single item that someone else does.. Change it up make it yours..

Sorry to complain on a holiday.. but I thought it was something that needed to be talked about. Now I think looking for ideas on blogs on style's and color choices are a great idea, but stop and think for a second about what you are doing when you take credit when it is NOT your idea.. That will come back and bite you in the rear! Other bloggers will soon find out and your name will become mud..

We are all creative people here and there is plenty of room for all of us here.. Just stop stealing ideas and claiming you came up with them. Ask permission to use pictures, make things to sell, give credit to the lady who spent hours sewing, crafting, etc.. SHE deserves the credit for her time!

Koolest Cooler, New finds, Great Side Dish Recipe

Well I was flea marketing a few weeks back and found the Koolest Cooler out there...

Look at the graphics on this baby. I think I may have to reprint this in fabric.

The colors are great.

It was in great condition and very well cared for..

It will be going with me to all baseball games, soccer games and anything else that requires a cooler

Super summer fun!

I also found a ton of LARGE Blue Glass canning jars.. They have become my new collection and I LOVE them!

These vintage TV trays I found at an estate sale.. they are getting a make over.. more to come on that.

I also found this sweet little statue.. She had to come home with me.

And if you are looking for a super yummy side dish for this weekend.. Look NO further...This is so good and super fast and easy. Here is what you need:

4 cups of thinly sliced zucchini

3 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges

1/4 cup of green onions

set all of these aside in a bowl.

In a bowl or jar with a tight lid add the following and shake super well and then pour over the tomatoes, onions and zucchini.

3/4 cup of red wind vinegar (found with regular vinegar)

2/3 cup of vegetable oil

1 garlic clove, minced

2 tablespoons of sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon of dried basil

Dash of 1/8 teaspoon pepper.

Cover all this with a tight lid as mentioned above and shake up really well.. Then pour over the tomatoes, onions and zucchini and coat real well. Store in the Frig for two hours, mix up well before you serve.. It is so so yummy!

I found this wonderful sign over at Antsi-Pants blog.. This is the song I use to sing to Jake each night when I would rock him to sleep. His birthday is coming up in a few short weeks.. I think I will make him a sign for his birthday. Not that "all" 14 year old boys want a sign like this for their room, so I will happily hang it in the family room, but I will sign the back for him and I know he will love it. Hopefully a treasure one day he will be happy to hang in his own home. Now I need to do one for my girls and so the words to "you light up my life" :) Enjoy your Thursday! :)

Flag Banners and a new kind of Arm Candy

This week has been nice.. I have been able to get so much done..

These are all new leather cuffs with vintage jewels and lace that are going to my shop tomorrow..

I also have been making a few headbands for my girls.. these are for the fourth of July

Yesterday I spent most of my time sewing banners and a few totes..

This has to be my favorite one.. I have a few of these going to the shopn as well.

Hello my name is Mechelle and I am addicted to BURLAP! What is it about this stuff?

I just love it.. I also made a few table runners too that will be going, but somehow they did not make the photo shoot :)

I found a small store that closing and they had a TON of these ready made canvas totes.. I don't know about you, but I have a TON of totes all over the house.. I keep projects in them, take to the kids sporting events with magazines and food in them.. We use them like crazy.

I had some old quilts that had seen better days, but still had a few good pieces on them.. I just appliqued them to the bags.

This one is my daughters.. and she is not done with it yet, but I think it will be cute.. I am adding vintage buttons to them, and then to the shop they will go too.

This one is my favorite.. Love the colors.

We are finishing up Baseball this week. The girls are officially done with softball, as of yesterday. Jake will be done on Thursday and then I can get my yard done, and really get into some serious projects. The kids and I are hanging at the pool when we can and just chillin.. It is so nice NOT to have to get them some where by a certain time and stop and pick someone up.. Hope you are enjoying your summer too!!!!

Quilt Inspiration

Butterfly Hideaway Camp

This has been such a fun week... I have been helping out with a special camp dedicated to the memory of the sweetest girl ever! Tess Blackwelder.

We have been holding the camp at school and doing a LOT of crafts and learning a lot about nature

We made writing journals

We had a specail guest, Mrs. Mackris one of the BEST ever first grade teachers come and teach us all about Butterfly's

We have been in the garden looking on plants and under rocks

We have been looking for things

Mrs. Mackris brought us a butterfly to let out in the garden

We also have been just chillin..

We have had some great snacks each day to go with our themes

Flip Flop Make Over

New Shop Inventory

I have been busy re-stocking my shop space..

Lots of great vintage finds, cheaper than Pottery Barn for sure.

My favorite new thing.. These were actually old very small photos I found while out junking. I blew them up and framed them.. I am in the process of framing a vintage bathing suit as well.

Aren't these ladies just looking cool?

And so are the beach ladies too!

Old chalk boards.. Love to use these for messages.. My girls have a few they take in the car for trips, and for the LONG baseball games too.

OK, so maybe this my FAVORITE new thing.. I have been taking old sheet music and framing it. You will not find prettier art work than old sheet music.

Bird Homes for Sale

Here are some new bird houses I have been doing with fabric.

We finished the school year with an 8th grade dance.. This is Jake "dressed" up..

My garage full of finds and PROJECTS... Can you hear my husband complaining? He is worried that his precious grill have to weather outside. He is getting a grill cover for fathers day, so I can have more room in the garage! :)

New things in the making and just Fun

OK, so I have a picture of a naked hanging MANakin, as my girls spell it.. Well we found this fine fellow, and I was looking for a new one to hang for my aprons.. well I could not figure out if he would work or not, so for $12.00, it was a no brainer, I put him in the cart and off went.. My girls decided that we could decorate him, and with an apron on, you would not be able to tell it was a MANakin.. They decided that since he would be wearing an apron, we would call him a Sheman (sha-man) :) They are funny.. I will keep you posted on how he turns out.

Well it is the end of the school year here and we are super busy with school, musicals, young authors night, and baseball, and softball.. Well at the moment we are doing a LOT of make up games...

Birthday Wishes to Heaven

Happy Birthday Mamaw.. This lady here in this picture was my whole heart. She raised me and loved me like there was no tomorrow. She taught me right from wrong, she taught me forgiveness, how to love, she taught me life! She made me laugh, smile and feel secure..

Even though one day I know I will meet up with her again, and she has been gone for almost 10 years, she is still the first person I want to call when something good happens, or bad happens.. The person I wish most in the world I could spend 5 mintues with to tell her how much I love her and how much she meant to me. That even though we talked every day, and told each other every day that we loved each other, it was still not enough! I wish my kids would of got to know her better, boy they would of loved her too much, like me :) Now we are lucky to get her to watch over us daily, and even though she is not here physically, she is still in my heart and still watching over me, for that I am so blessed.

I'm thinking of you today Mamaw, and everyday. I thank God for you, and for blessing me with you in my life. I hope the angels are singing you a wonderful Happy Birthday Song, you deserve it! I love you, Shelly May :)

Vertigo and George is visiting my house...

OK, so it is me or does it seem that even in this day and time, it still seems a little taboo to talk about your period? Well mine have gotten worse each month.. and I am have the spent the entire day in bed, drugged up on Pamprin.. I think I took too many and I have splet all day!
What a waste of time! I should be sewing, and creating today and I a in bed with my "monthly visitor" that in Jr. High we girls use to say "George is visiting" so the boys would not know what we were talking about.. Well I have come to hate George, lol...
My Gyno says that I need to have my uterus lining burned out, can't remember the exact name of that procedure, but I am wondering if any of you have had that done? I know it stops the periods, but how are things afterwards? I have heard good and bad... Please share....

As if that is not enough, I have a touch of vertigo.. OK, this so sucks! Sorry for being so blunt, but it does. I think I have a inner ear infectin that has not cleared up and I have been having bouts of Vertigo for the past two weeks and it has been terrible! I am calling the doctor tomorrow to see what else we can do. The dizzy meds they gave me knock me out big time. Just no fun...Sorry to complain ladies.. Sorry for the boring blog post too.. I hope I will back to my old self soon. Hope you all are doing well... Any info on the burning of the uterus lining would be great..or vertigo and hey, what do you call your period? Someone make me smile please!

I bought this print a while back off etsy.. I can't remember the artist.. but I just fell in love with it.. Little did I realize that seeing umbrella's this spring would be a part of our everyday look! I live in Cincinnati and we have had so much rain, and crazy weather it has been terrible.

I am still around, just have not been able to complet any new project outside due to the lovely cold weather and Rain.. sigh.. Soon I will be back up and running.. Hope you all have a great Mother's day this weekend too!

Tomorrow on April 27th, I turn 42 years old..

Wow where does the time go? We love watching Cake Boss in our house and I found these images and thought they were perfect for the sewer!

I would be to afraid to cut into one of these..

I still feel younger than 42, so I guess that is a good thing :) I will be spending the day cleaning house and being Thankful that I have found a few ladies who DO NOT like to clean house and do not mind paying me to do it :)

Reverse Surprise Birthday Party

A what???? A reverse surprise birthday party..

How?? Well the birthday girl knows about it and she has her mom invite a few friends by telling only the mom of the girl.. and they show up at your house at 8:30 in the morning and get your girl out of bed, or off the sofa, in her pj's and take her their house for breakfast and birthday fun!

Macy was invited to a party for a friend of her's Clair.. and I thought it was the cutest idea I had ever heard.. So we made Clair a new tote and a few headbands.. Macy had no idea this was for Clair, until I handed her the birthday gift bad I had hidden..

What a fun idea! Think we will have to try this.. You should of seen Macy's face when the doorbell rang at 8:30 and here in our door were four of her friends.. she just sat there looking at them. It was too cute!

I hope you all have a great Easter..I'm off to stuff eggs and finish up baskets.. Then off to work, shop for Easter clothes (yes I know I am VERY late) and then get ready for the weekend.

The MESSIEST sewing room and Flea Market Finds

A while back.. a long while back.. I was bragging about my walk in closet turned sewing room in the basement.. Well I have been really enjoying it.. And it is a total MESS! Infact I should host a contest for the messiest sewing rooms and have them sent in! You won't really win anything, but you will find out that you are not alone.. if you keep your sewing room like mine is most of the time.. Maybe I am alone.. Maybe I not only hosted the contest but I also won! Hmmmm that would not be good.

My once organized shelves are a MESS! Oh well.. I am getting ready for an art show on May 1st and between that and trying to keep things at the shop, it will just have to stay a mess.. It is a WORK room, not a show room, right?

I did manage to get to a flea market this weekend.. FUN! But super muddy.. I found few things..

Loved the graphics on these old feed bags.. They are stain free, just need a good washing.

More sheet music to frame and hang up at the shop..I have to tell you ladies.. Framed Sheet music is just so pretty, try it and it is cheap too.

Tons of lace and trims.. (like really needed any more)

And these two old fella.. Do any of you remember having a set or more of these? We did while I was growing up and I just had to have them..

And this is the soccer ball killer, aka.. Sampson..

He LOVES soccer balls, softballs, baseballs..anything he can find and claim as his own...

He even likes to sleep with them, to make sure no one will take them.. Like we could even use them after he gets a hold of one.. but we love him any way!

And we have been doing a LOT of this.. Baseball.. My son Jake plays for the Madeira Yankee's.. He plays first base and he LOVES this game...

My husband helps coach and he LOVES this game, almost as much as Jake! Softball games have not started, just practice. The next few weeks will be super busy with schools stuff, sports and art shows, but we will get through it.. My house will be a mess, but my kids will be happy and that is all that matters in the end.

Too much time on my couch

I have been sick a few days and spending way too much time on the sofa! I hate that...

I did find this great tutorial over at Funky PolkaDot Giraffe on these ruffled headbands.. And I did get a few done and I LOVE them.. My girls are wearing them to school and I think they will be a big hit and a great way to use my scraps! Lord do I have scraps....

I am finally feeling better and get to spend my morning at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned with Macy.. We may stop at a junk store by the dentist and have some lunch before I take her back to school. As soon as I stop and BUY batteries for my camera I will post pics of my girls wearing their new headbands. Have a great day!

April Showers, bring May flowers

Boy do I have the BEST idea to hang on our door for spring!

Yes that is an umbrella.. Here is what did...

You take an umbrella with a curved handle, silk flowers, ribbon and newspaper (not pitured)

unwrap the little thingy that holds your umbrella together.. then stuff a little newspaper inside, just to give it some body and help hold the flowers..

Stuff your silk flowers in, I fed mine through the wire spokes and rested them on the newspapaer (my picture is sideways)

Tie a ribbon around the center and hang it up..! Isn't this too cute and fun for April? My friend had one hanging on her door yesterday and I had to make one to share with you all!

I wish I could put scratch and sniff on here.. This stuff is at Walmart and it is just as it reads.. Fabuloso.. It smells wonderful and it cleans so nicely too.. They have it in a Lavender sent as well.. Either one is great and it is CHEAP too! Try it, you will love it!

Laundry Room Envy

I have Laundry Room Envy so bad!!! Look at these beautiful places to do laundry.. do they really exist, or are they just in fancy magazines? Mine is in the basement.. I will spending my weekend down there finishing up my week long project of re-organizing the entire thing! Not an easy job..And hopefully I can see past the room and invision a space like above... I love the one about putting salt on a slug, I remember doing that.. Life is so simple at 11... Your dreams are easy and reachable!

She has already crossed off one thing.. Having a Noodle war.. these things are just not for the pool!

I love seeing them have so much fun and OUTSIDE!

I want one of theses SO bad... It takes me back to my childhood.. camping with my family and camping at my best friends house across the street from me, in her backyard.. all summer long..

I keep saying I am going to find one of these, and bring it home...

Of coarse my husband will flip.. This is a little more than the "normal" dresser he repaints for me. And can I talk him into pulling a "girly" camper down the highway? Not sure yet... But I would love to try.

Wouldn't you love to get one of these, rip it all out and start over? I would!

Hurry up summer! This has been the LONGEST winter ever on the East coast!!!!!

Congrats to our Madeira Magic Team

I have to give a whole blog post to my daughter Carly and her Awesome basket team, Madeira Magic!

These girls have played together for the past three years and have never lost a single game, during their normal season.

I don't care who you are that is IMPRESSIVE! These girls are 5th graders.. These girls are amazing and are the sweetest girls around!

These girls have TWO Wonderful coaches who give a ton of their time to teach these girls with their hearts and teach them Well, obviously!

These girls LOVE their coaches and they listen to them and respect them.. and do what they say and they win!

We also have the BEST parents ever! The kind of parents you become life long friends with and who you can't wait to see and sit with at the games!

These girls don't have big heads.. they just love to play the game and they love to win and they are NOT snobby about it at all.. They just want to play.

And we can't forget the little sisters who get drug to all the games, who cheer them all on! Thank you girls!

And even though we did not win the tournament, we came in 2nd place, played our butts off and left with our heads high and ready to come back for next year! What a great exciting season.. A thank you to our coaches and our girls.. What a wonderful family they have all become!

Congrats Madeira Magic.. You girls are the BEST!!!!!!

New Purse Sneak Peek

I thought I would get off the "rant" I left a few days ago and move onto something positive! I have a few new purse and aprons going on my etsy site on Friday.. Finally I have had some time to make a few things to list on there.. Here is just a sneak peek of one I have done, that I am using for myself.

T-shirt memory quilt & Bullying

WOW it has been forever since I have been here.. I promise I am still alive! I have been working on a lot of items of "donations" for upcoming events around town. This is a Memory Quilt (this is just the top) out of school t-shirts for our School's Auction this weekend.

This is my first ever quilt like this.. and it was a learning experience and it is NOT perfect by any means.. I hope someone still buys it!

It was a lot of fun to make, though!

In between making the quilt I have been cleaning houses for a few friends and dealing with a lot of other stress,..... Bullying.

I won't go into a lot of details, but it was one of my kids that was bulleyed and it was terrible.. I say "was" loosely, as I hope this is the end of it, but I am not 100% sure at this point.

It happened at school and on the Internet and to be honest with you, I think the school handled it so poorly and did absolutely nothing to the other people involved, not even a "good ole fashioned talking (scaring) too"

In dealing with this, it has made me and my husband aware that the schools really do NOT protect the kids who are victims in this. Things are not the same when I was in school 25 years ago and now they have texting, xbox, facebook, email lots of ways to keep it going 24 hours a day and to reach hundreds of people. It is scary and sad.

Mostly sad because my child was hurt emotionally and there was little I could do to help take the pain away. Sadly my child also learned who their true friends are and how some of them scare so easily just being in a Principal's office that they lie and throw you under the bus or say they did not see or hear anything, and all of "sudden" become neutral.. Very sad, very much a coward!

I feel like these schools need more education and the kids bullying need to be punished, and I mean to the point where other kids are like "oh crap, I'm staying away from that".. Kids these days have no fear and there are lot of parents out there that are NOT parenting their kids and then you have the ones who tell their kids to "look away" "don't help" "don't get involved" and that is sad too! I hope those parents will understand that one day when their child needs a friend and no one will be around to help them.

So.. that is what we have been dealing with for going on two week and I have just been mentally exhausted, if that makes sense???

I'm sorry to go on and on.. but I am going to our school board and I am going to push for more to be done, so one Else's child has to suffer like mine did.. I'm sorry for going on and on... I promise next post will be uplifting and more fun!

Keeping it real, Keeping House and Crafting

So I have decided to show you all a little about me, and how I get somethings done..and how something DON'T get done... I have had a few people email me and ask me how I get so much done, well NO ONE can get it all done and you have to let something go to get the rest of it done.. so let's start with what I DID get done...

I got 8 more jars made for the shop, although I am keeping 2 for me :)

I got 10 more bracelets made for the shop

I used almost ALL vintage linens on this batch.. I just love these..

I also got a few things painted too.. Did not make the photos..sorry.. But to get ALL this done, I had to leave a few things undone... like this...

My living room after one eveing of watching tv and the kids being home.

My sink full of dishes.. At least most of them are in the sink, where they belong.. Isn't this what a sink is for?

My girls room..And By the way.. "this is clean!" according to the girls.. FYI, those laundry baskets will stay in there until I flip out and yell and end up re-putting them away, because they will do it in such a rush, you won't be able to get the drawers closed, OR they will end up in the floor with food, and dog hair on them.. yes I said Dog hair.. I have a lab and YES he sheds and he LOVES to lay on anything in the floor.

And look, I would do more laundry IF I had more laundry baskets, oh well it will still be here waiting for me, I'm sure!

Another project that did not get done, started or anything but brought out of my van and plopped down in the living room.

Oh, but Sampson did catch a few HOURS of naps.. he is too cute..

And my favorite thing of all.. This adorable little sampler my Carly made for me, with her own hands.. She hand stitched it.. It will be framed and hung in my bedroom.. Which, thank God, I did not take photos of..

So See I don't get it all done, I have to let something go and I just choose what it will be.. I like my sleep at night and I like my quiet time just after the kids go to school in the morning.. Tomorrow I will be cleaning house for money.. I have two a week that I clean on top of all this.. so I don't worry about mine, it will get done.. someday :)

I choose to craft and sew and to help make money for this house. And although my mouth waters over some of the homes on these blogs.. and my house can look great 10 minutes before company comes over (when planned)..for the most part if you stop by UN ANNOUNCED, this is what you will find.. Me and my family living our BUSY, Crazy, but fun life!

I met The Pioneer Woman

The Pioneer Woman, I got to meet her! She is GREAT!!!!

On Friday a few friends of mine all went to meet the pioneer woman, we had a great time! She is funny, down to earth and the kind of gal, you could hang out with and eat cake!

Our smallest gal for the night, Lilly. She is too cute!!!

Here is one group, Heidi, Tracey with Lilly and Me! We waited in line a LONG time ,but it was worth it. Afterwards, we had dinner in the bookstore where they were featured her Pot Roast from her cook book! It was YUMMY! If you don't have her cookbook, grab a copy.. I promise you will love it.. It not fancy gourmet food, but REAL food, with REAL butter and REAL tasty! No it is not a cook book if you are a Calorie Counter Gal, but when you fall off the wagon, you will want it to be in a stack of her home made cinnamon rolls for sure!

And the other group of ladies with us.. The lady on the right with the curly hair is Jonelle, and I don't think even The Marlboro Man loves The Pioneer Woman as much as she does :) She is her #1 Fan! I had a great time, fun night out with the girls, great food and an adorable baby too! What more can a girl ask for? Have you tried any of her recipes? Let me know which one is your favorite!

Fabric Note Cards Tutorial

No, I did not go on vacation.. I sure do wish.. I have been busy working on re-stocking my shop and getting ready to stock more on my etsy site too.. I decided to make some of these fabric covered note cards with my scraps.. I LOVE them!

I bought a pack of blank cards from Michaels, you can find them any where..

I gathered my scraps, and I should write a book about what to do with scraps, because I have a TON!

You sew your fabric right to the card.. No special thread and it won't rip the card

Make sure your fabric goes over the sides, you can trim it later. This is what the inside of your card will look like. I used white thread for the inside and colored for the outside.

I also added some extra ribbon I had laying around too.

And here are your finished cards.. Great way to give one of a kind cards and a great way to use up those scraps!

Mod Podge Bird House Re-do

So it seems Sheet Music is coming up on everything now a days..and I must say I LOVE it! I got a bunch of these bird houses a while back and decided to decorate them up. This is the first one done with sheet music.. below is what I did.

All you need is some Mod Podge ( I use the matte finish), some old sheet music ( you can find at any junk store) a foam brush and a plate.

Simply cut the sheet music out and measure it and apply your Mod Podge to your item and then lay the paper over it.. Go over it again with Mod Podge so it stays on good and also seals it as well.

And here it is finished.. I think it needs a little more bling, but you get the idea..

This is where I got my inspiration.. I did not do this piece, but I did a small one like it and I lOVED it.. It already sold.

Also I fell in love with these, but was not about to pay their prices, so I made my own the same way as above. You can use battery operated candles and they work perfectly too.

Sheet music just adds some pretty your place.. These would be so pretty on a piano.

I am playing major catch up on cleaning and organizing.. We had more snow today and the kids should of been home, but our lovely district sent them any way.. (can you tell I a not too happy about that) So I am finishing up some project and will a lot more great ideas to come!

Well is this the BEST saying or what? I can't take the credit for the words.. A wonderful friend of mine, Ronda post this on her facebook page said it. It is just the funniest thing and so like her, she is super funny.. so I made a transfer and then made this into a pillow.. which I still need to get to her.

I am working on a lot of new things for the shop and my etsy shop as well.. Which I will re-open on February 1st with a ton of great items, one of which will be this saying on a pillow and a tote bag.

I will keep you posted with teases of new things going into the store each day..

Finally my youngest went back to school.. Carly is still home but today I think she is starting to feel a little better.

Not sure if you all remember this find from the summer.. but it has been painted and is now in my shop.

Then after.. I know not great shots, but It will have to do. I have had one very sick little girl.. We rang in the new year in Childrens Hospital. She has a terrible stomach flu and has been very sick.. So I am behind in taking down my tree, packing away Christmas, and re-stocking my store..

My space is so bare... This and the table to the side were the only two pieces of furntire I had left.. Yea.. but uh-oh.. time to get really busy..
