What a busy week.. It started out with the best find this season..thus far.. this antique porcelain top table and chairs. This was being sat out to the trash and I spotted it and sure enough I had to pull over and load my van.
Can you believe someone was throwing this out? I almost fainted.. I have been wanting one of these for over a year! I am leaving it as I found it too!
Next, onto this awesome new dress garland I am working on.
I am so sorry, but I lost the site where I got this, so if you know who it is, please tell me.. Anyway, I am cutting these out of old velvet wallpaper and you put two holes near the top and string them together.. They are not done, as I will be adding small vintage buttons, lace and other things to them as well.. So Pretty!
I LOVE vintage velvet wallpaper.
This is my favorite find for the week! How cute is this? A sugar holder repurposed into a string holder? I wish I could take the credit for this brilliant idea, but It was from my friend at Bon Flourish.. check out her blog, located in my side blog roll. Isn't that a "Why didn't I think of that" moment?
And here are my homemade versions of Cloche Bell Jars..
I have a hard time finding these and when I do, they seem to be so exspensive.. so I thought
I would try to make my own..
A few found pieces from the thrift store.. A glass plate, a glass candle stick, a glass hurricane votive and a small candle holder.. I glued them together with glass glue and this is what I got..It's not Great, but it was cheap!.. Hope you all have a great Sunday!
I can NOT believe that you found that set for FREE! Geez - I also have been really wanting a table and chairs like that. Totally cool - whoohoo for lucky you!!

ReplyDeleteGood for you, Mechelle...just goes to show you...always drive an empty van, you never know what you will find along the way. Hee hee!!!

Love and Kisses
Love all of your sweet projects. The wallpaper dresses are simply precious!!
ReplyDeleteThe table was a great find! Last summer I picked up a wonderful porch swing with a "free" sign on it. It didn't even need to be painted. And, I love your cloche idea. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it!!!! Oh, if you ever decide you don't want that table you picked up on the side of the road, I'd be happy to drive to your part of the country to take it off your hands. (ha)
