Fun New Stuff and ANOTHER Give Away

So your thinking... Why is she posting pictures of vintage silver lids? Well have you ever picked up something that your mind said "these are lids" but your "creative mind" said, "two of them, oh yea... they can be used as coat hangers or hangers for anything!"

Can you see it? I am leaving them as is and finding a place to hang them near my front door. They are not your typical coat hangers, but that is why I like them so much.

If you follow my blog you know we recently moved.. Well everyone should take an old momento from their old place.. so I took the address.. they were putting up a new one, and it was going to be tossed so my old address has a "new home" in the kitchen. It reminds me that change is good.

I had to show you this cool clock.. It is not vintage.. but made to look this way.. Got it at T.J. Maxx for $12.00. What a deal! It too will be going in my kitchen.. Starting to get a theme in there... hmmmmm

These will soon be my new pillows for my living room..

This is a vintage fabric I picked up early spring at a flea market.. Love the birds and colors!

A few new purses, will be in the etsy store in the moring.... $15.00

Amy Butler Fabric.. These bags are great to grab and go around town.. you can stick a ton of things in there. I love the one I carry.

And yes, more of my addiction fabric.. Jennifer Paganelli's fabric..If there is a support group for her fabric line, I will be the first to sign up!

On a recent run to a nearby antique mall.. I found something like this.. The gal wanted almost $50.00 for it and of coarse I said, "I can make that" and I did.. These are vintage word flash cards. They are simple, but unique and are in my etsy store now for $20.00 framed.. What neat gift idea. Perfect daily inspirtation for you or a dear friend.

My Favorite that I did today..this patchwork window. WOW I love the colors.. and I have a serious addiction to old windows and doors too. All done up with Amy Butler Fabric.. Another fabirc lover of mine.. This is in my etsy shop for $55.00 and I will be doing lots more.. Hope you like it.

So the Give Away you ask? Well I am giving away one framed vintage flash card saying.. I will even let you pick the saying once you win.. So I will custom make it for you!

All you have to do is just leave me a comment, with your email address and the drawing will be Sunday November 1st, at 8:00 pm. I love doing give aways.. spread the word, post it on your blog, let me know you did it and you will be entered twice, and if you win.. then you will get a extra special surprise with your gift!

Have a great creative week!

Working on my Etsy Shop

Where does the time go? Really, I am so amazed at how quickly time goes by so fast, mostly when you have a ton to do!

I have been super busy the past week, and a terrible blogger.. sorry for that!
I have been working on my sewing room, getting a few things wrapped up and started to stock my etsy shop again..
I have some things left over from some shows that I am putting in there today, and they are all on sale, so stop by if you get a minute. Click the little bird at the top of the blog that is marked "etsy".
Eventually I want to list here on my blog as well.. some day!

Back to working and enjoying the weather.. Sorry such a crappy post, but I promise to do better this week!
Have a great week everyone.

A friend needs your help, Please

My dear friend Tracey sent me a text message and asked me to help her, help her son.

Tracey and her husband are the two most special people I have meet in my life. They have 8 children. Four of the children have Cystic Fibrois. What they go through in a day to day routine is remarkable. How close they are, and how what kind hearts they have is just amazing to witness. Two years ago their daughter Tess, who was 7, passed away from this horrible disease with complications due to the Cystic Fibrosis. You can read more about Tess in earlier blog post I did.

Their oldest son, Taylor is going for a full scholarship through the Cystic Fibrois foundation. He has written a short essay and has made it to the final 40 people. All you have to do is simply go the website listed, click on his name (Taylor B) and simply vote online.

It will not cost you a thing, just a moment of your time and a few clicks of your mouse.
I know this family will appreciate your kindness. Please feel free to copy this, or spread this to anyone on your email list or your blog.. It would be wonderful to see how many people we can reach and how many votes he can get!
Thank you so much!

A star is reborn

I love these old stars. I wanted to do something fun and different for my girls room. Since they are leaving the soft pink look behind. I though was a great way to reuse what we have and make something new.

I let them pick out a few fabrics.

Then I made a template from newspaper.

I just traced the template onto the fabric.

I then just used glue and water and attached the fabric to the star.

It's Fun, Funky and the girls love it. It needs some ric rac, which I will let the girls help with.

Have a great Thursday
