Pink Daisys Shop

Here are some photos of my shop space for Pink Daisys Shop

I'ts not much... and it's not full... but hopefully as soon as this weather breaks and yard sales start back it, it
will be packed!

I have to give most of the display credit to Stephanie of Vintage Glitter House and Brenda of Emelish Home Embleshiments (both in my favorite blogs on the side).. These two girls can do wonders with things.. They totally helped me one day move all this around and have been so much fun to work with and they offer so much help!  I would lost without their help!  Check out their blogs... they are awesome, have tons of great pics and idea..Thank you both, you are the BEST!!!!!

See something you like.. let me know.. I would be happy to bring it home for you!
Also wanted to show you my newest sewing thing.. Water Bottle Holder!

I finally got around to taking a picture.. it's not the best photo.. but I did use Jennifer Paganelli's fabric.. which you all know I LOVE!
I figured one more way to keep my hands free while shopping, so I can snag things up quickly!  Yes I am one of those shoppers at a flea market.. I scan the whole area.. quickly.. if it catches my eye, I charge for it and snag it!  Don't we all shop like that?
Have a great day!

A Quilt for Tess

I had to share with you this quilt... This quilt that is the BEST quilt you will ever see you in life!  This quilt that will have so much meaning to you and so much love to you, after you read this... This quilt that was made out of LOVE, for a very sweet little girl who's name was Tess.

Tess was a sweet little girl with a smile always on her face.  She was a daughter, a sister, and a friend to ALL who knew her!  Tess had Cystic Fibrois and she passed away in August 2007 from complications with this disease, at the age of 7.
This quilt was made with her clothes!  This quilt was made by an Amish woman who is almost 80 years old.
This most talented Amish woman went againt her normal beliefs to create this quilt for my dear friend Tracey and her family.  The Amish are not allowed to have "English" things in their homes.. No "English" clothes or anything.  They do not have cameras to take snap shots like we all do, so there was no digital camera sitting around to take snap shops of Tess's clothes.
She took each item shirt, dress, skirt, pants..etc.. and re-created it!  Down to the last detail..Yes this is a sweater with the real zipper from the orginial sweater in it and it has a 3D effect too.
One of her Dresses and hearts made out of other pieces of clothes. All Hand Stitched!
One of her favorite Fleece Shirts.. This is now the size of an American Girl Doll would wear.
These are on one quilt square and are the size that a Barbie would wear!

One of her dresses  I mean look at this detail...  This not your normal quilting.. and this is not your normal
talent with quilting.  This was all done by memory, all done by hand, and mostly done by love. She did not take photos, as the Amish do not have cameras to take photos of this stuff.. This wonderful lady made my friends day!  She hugged her when she saw the quilt and the Amish do not hug either! :)  Her family is enjoying the quilt.. What a dear thing to do and to create for a a special little girl who is now one of Heaven's Angels..
This is Tess.. And we all miss her too much!

I wanted to share with you the neatest idea.. Tracey, Tess's mom.. had to keep charge of 8 kids..
Look at this cool idea she and her husband did.. They took a small wall space near the basement door, and they added a metal sheeting.. and then she gave each child a basket with their name on it for school papers, permission slips.. stuff we need, but not right at the moment they give it to you!
She also has a huge calender at the top with everyone's things to do.. and current seasonal snap shots of the kids.. It is the neatest thing I have seen.. and I have told her I wanted to do this in my house.. I think it is neat.. you can change it out and still be organized!  Way to go Ralph and Tracey.. OK, so probally Tracey thought the idea up and Ralph just made it!

New things going in the shop on Wednesday... Vintage items, Key Chains, and more Aprons.. Finally..
Here are just a few...
My Favorite Verse!  This is an old orginial verse I found a long time ago.. My husband is taking the frame apart so we can copy this and I will be putting this in my etsy shop for sale.
Have a great night!

Feels like Monday

No, I am not away at the Beach.. although I do wish that.. I thought instead of more SNOW pics.. I would show a lovely place that is in my head.. a place where the sand is almost hot on my feet and I have to get them wet to cool them off.. A place where you hear kids playing, having a great time and hear the ocean hit the shore and you just feel sooooooo relaxed.. A place not like where I am now.. looking out into the snow.. No more snow pics!

Well since my kids have been off for 5 days...and they just went back today, this is my Monday!  So I am super behind as you can imagine.. I am doing Monday things on Wednesday and still trying to do Wednesday things a well..
I just wanted to stop in say Hi, give you something pretty to look at and tell you I will be back tomorrow..
But before I go.. if you are tired of cooking.. please go to the http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/  Scrool through her recipes and find the Spagetti and Meatballs.. OH MY GOSH!  Ladies I have never had spagetti and meatballs taste SO GOOD!  It is worth the extra work and your family will think you are a GOD!

Have a great Wednesday/Monday!

Snow Day and Valentine's

First off.. My latest Thrift Store find for $3.99  Not bad.. One glass handle was broken, but that is easily replaced!
What do you do on a Snow Day?  The day before your Valentine's Party at school?  Make your own Valentine's.  I was so happy that both girls wanted to make homemade ones.. They were adorable!
Butterflies with Pixie Stix.. Who would not like one of these?
Then we made heart shape cupcakes for a class party.

I need to clean my oven.. but no.. not today!
All packed up and ready to go to school.. I took a ton of differnet icings and candies and let the second graders decoare their own cake!  Oh, they LOVED it.. All I heard was "Mrs. Hyatt, our mom does not let me do this at home" And my answer was after I saw the mountain of icings they were piling on the cakes, and I mean HUGE mountain of icing.. "Don't anyone tell your moms that Mrs. Hyatt, had this idea"  I'm sure they were on a sugar high.. we also made candy heart necklaces too!
My shadow, Carly.. always by my side. no matter what I am doing.. She is right there with me happy to help and to learn.  She is starting to sew too.
Macy had to have a few "extra" to try to make sure they were alright for her classmates!
Our front porch while all the baking and card making was going on.. This was a LOT of snow!
Part of our back yard
Someone wants to go out and play in the snow too!
Hello????  I am waiting to go out.. any kids want to come with?
My hard working boy, shoveling the driveway.. way to go Jake!
I had to show you the icesicles on our neighbors house!  WOW HUGE
And even though today it is cold, and there is still a ton of snow.. the sun is out and it is beautiful.
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day and weekend with your family!

New Headboard

Since we have moved in to this house, I have totally had a block about our bedroom.. and a headboard..
I have had this old door outside for a while.. I bought it one, cleaned it up and thought I would try this..
I LOVE how it turned out.. I still have a lot of work to do in here.
I have no curtains up yet.. but I am working on it.
Not all my pictures are up yet.. but I love the one of Paul and Jake. .my sister in law painted that
for Paul for his birthday one year.. And my Pottery Barn Quilt.. would you belive I bought this for $20.00 at
a friends yard sale?  I LOVE it!
Although we decided to take the smallest bedroom, it is starting to feel cozy in here and that is jus what I wanted..

Here is part of the "office" area in the basement.. again more mail boxes.. I just love to use these.
What do you do when you are bored?
Remember the old bench I found a few weeks back?  Well I took off the TACKY pleather
top, and found this beautiful antique velvet under it.. It is so pretty, I left it as is.. It will be going
to my shop for sale later this week. BEAUTIFUL
And here are a few arprons getting ready to go in my etsy store.. This is from an Anthropology bed skirt!
That's it for today.. My kids are home from school and are in the snow playing.. I am ready for spring.. I am ready to complain out how hot it is outside.
Have a great day!
