Fabric Easter Egg Craft

A Super Easy Fun Easter Craft to do with the kids.
All you need are: Fabric Scraps, school glue, bowl, wax paper, or aluminum foil (I was out of wax paper), paper towels (lots of them) and plastic eggs.  I used the larger eggs.
I diluted the glue with 50% warm water and 50% glue, and stirred really well.
Gather all your fabric scraps.. any shape or size will do.. No fabric at home?  Well how about a shirt or skirt you were going to give to Goodwill?  Use that.
Cut your fabric into small strips, about the size of your pointer finger.  I also did squares the size of quarters and really any shape will work.. just have fun cutting.. but make sure you CUT BEFORE you start.
Lay your fabric down into the glue mixture and get it wet.
Take your fingers and remove the excess mixture.. after this you can easily just rub the egg with the glue mixture and then just spread the fabric on and dip your fingers in the glue and rub on the egg.. It is FUN!
Smooth the wet fabric onto the egg and don't worry if it is not perfect.. That is all part of the fun. And don't mind my really old lady hands!
Start over lapping your fabric.. You will see this egg I used was yellow.. This was my first one. If you don't want the color to show through, keep layering.  Once dry, it really does not show up.
Your egg when done will look like this..
Lay them all out to dry over night.
And when finished and dried, you will have a great assortment of fabric eggs to use for years.
Enjoy!

Sewing Fun

This is my Carly.. Always by my side when I am sewing, wanting to help, wanting to use the seam ripper for me!
I sat her down and gave her some fabric and told her to just practice sewing.. She was very into it, as you can see..
Her very FIRST pillow!  YEA!  She is very happy.  It is a pillow that she is using for her American Girl Doll.  She did it all by herself and I just sat and watched and guided her.  I am very proud of her and she is VERY proud of herself!
And this is Macy.. she is just starting to practice going in a straight line and learning to turn.  She did a Great job too and I'm sure she will be sewing pillows before long too.
And this pampered animal is Sampson..Everytime my girls see him laying or sleeping on the furniture.. which is all the time.. they have to cover him up.  Of coarse he lets them.. he loves it as much as they do.  Crazy Dog!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow.  The girls and I will be showing a great Super Easy fun Easter Craft you can do with your kids over Spring Break for Easter..
I will give you a hint... Large Plastic Eggs, Fabric scraps and Mod Podge... You will LOVE it!
Have a great Friday!

A Vintage Look for New Jewlery

All you need are a few old clip on earrings, which I'm sure you all have.. And I the chain is a $10.00 chain from Target.

All I did was clip an earring on the chain
Add a few more if you like, or are bold..
Looks pretty with pearls too!
Just clip and go.
I get more compliments when I do this and more people stop me and ask me where I got my necklace at.. I like it because you can change it all the time and for under $20.00 you get a new look each time you wear it.
Have a great Saturday!

Easter Goodies

I have been absent, but with a good excuse... I have been crafting and sewing....
Here are a few of the little Easter Goodies I made for my shop space.  I have a few more in
the works and should get them on Etsy by Mid week.. which I know is tomorrow...
All I did is take an old thing of yarn.. add some natural color grass, by glueing it to the yarn.. then I glued
the egg to that.. Added some ribbon, glass buttons and made a handle.  The handle is a twine I got from JoAnn's and it is with the floral stuff and it is already this color.. All you do is cut it, bend it and I shoved it down inside the yarn, with some hot glue to hold it.  Very easy to do and you can make these in minutes!  Vintage Charm for Easter.

And now some sewing...
I made a few pillows too.. and my good friend Brenda gave me a few more of these feed sacks,
so I can make some more!
And my latest junking find.. I have been wanting one of these for a long long time.. Found a dealer who was going out of business and it was marked down, dirt cheap!  And I snagged it.. My kids will not stop typing on it, they think it is the neatest thing since the IPOD touch!
Have a great week and enjoy this sunshine we have been having.. I am out to clean out my garage to find some vintage goodies to put on Etsy.. So check back there tomorrow!
Have a great night.
