Great finds and A Give Away

OK Today was the opening day of my FAV outdoor flea market, Burlington Flea Market in Burlington Kentucky..LOVE IT! It is a huge outdoor flea market on the Boone County Fair grounds. It runs from April til October.. Well it rained, so I was not going to drive all the way there to find no one there.. so.. I went to a great indoor place that is huge.. and I found some great things. I loved this old framed verse I found. The saying is so pretty and so true and one I have never heard before.. I will be listing these great finds on ebay tomorrow.

Isn't this so true? I just loved it and it brings a peace to you when you read it.

Now this great Lamp.. I fell in love with for two reason.. I LOVE this shade and the fabrics and how they look so neat together.. Had to have this.. will be keeping this.. And the lamp base is all cast iron and really neat.. I love the old scrolls and the chippy white paint.. Perfect in my house.

And more old vintage drapes.. I am telling you, I can spot these things anywhere. I can scan a whole booth in two seconds and immediately find out if there is any barkcloth or barkcloth era fabric and then run to it.. This fabric is getting harder and harder to find..

And as much as I LOVE old mirrors.. I am parting with this great find.. WOW the best old barbola roses ever.. and a great creamy white chippy frame.. Now the mirror is distressed, but you can have that re-done, and it does not cost that much.. or you can leave it this way, which is what I would do :)

And while shopping at the local "junk store" as my kids call it.. My girls and I found this great old doll house.. WOW it is on wheels and just FAB! We had to have it for $10.00.. We are going to paint and work on the interior this summer.. I have a ton of vintage wall paper and we are going to dress her up right! I will post pictues when we are done!

Look at the inside.. a blank canvas.. I am excited to "decorate" this house. I think moving the furniture around in this house will be easier than when I try to do it in mine..

OK, so where have I been? Sewing, Sewing, Sewing and oh yea.. Sewing.. Here are a few of the aprons I have been doing.. This one is all done with all vintage finds.. An old table runner, old lace and old doilies.. I love it... very feminine..

Here is another one.. I used a lot of Jennifer Paganelli's fabrics, SIS BOOM, which I LOVE.. you need to check her out.. her fabrics are the BEST! I also used some Tina Givens fabric too.. I love the "funky romantic" look this one ended up having.. Tons of great pockets too!

And for my Give Away!

I am giving this great apron away to one lucky blogger.. All you need to do is leave me a comment and I will be drawing one lucky winner to receive this apron for Free!

Lot's of great pockets for your things.. I tell you, I made one last year and wore it to my fav flea market to free up my arms and shoulders from my purse.. and I got more compliments on it.. Everything is at your fingers and safe.. They are great for cleaning, craft shows.. anything you can think of. So just leave me a comment about the aprons and I will be doing a drawing On Friday April 24th..

The Easter Bunnies?????

A few days before Easter, my husband and I were in the house watching the news.. My husband started towards the front door and said, there are two bunnies in our yard.. Well these do belong to my neighbor.. and they had got out.. Two of them..

How cute are they???? They run the neighborhood here. well actually like four houses and then they run home to their back yard. They are adorable! I have had a ton of peolple pull into our driveway and just go crazy over them.. Really they just sit there like statues and then all of a sudden they move.. I had to share them with you.. they are so cute running around here.

And my Crew on Easter morning.. Finally an Easter where we could actually go outside and look for the eggs the Easter Bunny left! That was great! Here are my little ones, in the back yard.. Big brother Jake, helped his sisters find eggs!

Hope you all had a great Easter and are enjoying this nice weather we are having.. Spring is here and summer is right around the corner.. THANK GOD! :)

Inspirations

Well the past few days I have got more of magazines and bought a few too.. If you have not read any of my past post.. I have a addiction to decorating magazines.. and should be seeking help for it.. but they inspire me so I tell myself it is alright.

This one is FULL of great ideas... a must read

And this is FULL of great ideas and how to's, definately a must.

I just fell in love with this idea.. If you are a frequent flea market shopper or crafter.. you have a few of these lying around and not being used.. How cute is this idea? You trace your child's hand with a fabric pen and then use embroidery floss to go over it and put their name and the year. Now I also love the handpainted hand prints, but this is just too cute and what a keepsake.

They are adorable all together.. I think we may have to do some of these this week, while we are on spring break. And maybe a few for Grandparents Day coming up.

What to do with all your fabric scraps???? Well make them into coasters.. anyone can do this one. And I think I may have to make a few of these up for gifts..

Love the fabrics used here.. Pull that bag of scraps out and have fun!

Just loving this little corner and the colors.

I guess there is no surprise what my fav colors are is there?

OK this one just because I have a thing for mirrors and I love the curtains. I actually have a shower curtin like this.. waiting to be hung up.

But I LOVE This shower curtain better!!!! Look at the colors and I have never sewn one before, but I am thinking that could a project to put on my list.. Love these fabrics together.

Just because I am hoping for warmer days and I love sea shells too.

Have an attic you don't know what to do with? How lovely is this? The soft green and white.. Beautiful and so peaceful.

Sorry for the glare of my camera.. but again these colors just get my attention.. And I am again loving this organge with the aqua blue.. perfect for summer.

Just a close up.. Love it.

Don't you love using old windows and candleabra's with prisims? I can't have enough prisims in my house..

A new and very "french chic" look.. I just bought some of these a while back and just cut one this weekend to use for an apron.. and one to use for a purse.. but I also like this idea too.

I have seen this before, but it is always so pretty.. and these mirrors you can find anywhere, but hung like this they are truly lovely.

OK, before you throw out your old rake, or come across a great old one at a yard sale, or on the side of the road.. and think "what could I use this for?" Well here is your answer.. a one of a kind wine glass holder.. I love this idea.

Isn't this too neat? A great conservation starter for sure and a great way to re-use something and give it a new purpose.

And the best for last.. This is one of two matching quilt I just picked up! There is a company here in Cincinnati that does estate sales and they mostly do them as a on-line auction.. well I have found some neat stuff for next to nothing. The is starting to be known now, so the prices seem to be going on (shucks) Anyway.. I won this quilt for $22.00 and was thrilled. Well the day I was suppose to pick it up one of the lady's called and said they found another one and would I like it as well for $20.00? Well YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea how beautiful they were.. I mean look these quilts.

They are in MINT shape and someone has added skirts to each quilt. and the edges are just BEAUTIFUL.. These are all hand stitched and old feed sack fabrics and both of them match.

I am hoping that soon, my girls will be done with the Hannah Montanna bedding and really enjoy these old quilts and the history and love that goes into making one. I have two of these one for each of my girls that I will give them when they will appreciate it! But for now, I am loving them and displaying them with my other quilts.. My other weakness! We are on spring break this week and are spending it at home.. bowling, lazer tag, a movie and the best a huge indoor water park one day, they know nothing about.. Wish me luck getting through the week with all the sewing I have to do too..but hey, that is what I do at 1 and 2 in the morning when I can't sleep right? Sorry to over-laod you with photos, but if you are like me.. this all just eye candy.. Enjoy!~Mechelle

The name of the site is Everything but the house. Some of the stuff they will ship, unless stated.. But it is worth checking out. http://www.ebth.org/

Vinyl Wall Art

OK, so if you think you have seen it all, try again!.. I am LOVING these vinly wall art stencils!!!!

There is something for everyroom of your house. and look at this cool bathroom.. I think I may have to get some of these for my kitchen when I am done with it.

And I am loving these colors together.. orange and robins egg blue? I have found a new love of orange. Love this headboard the best.

And if this is not the most clever idea. If you have roller shades and do not have the patience to put fabric on them.. Nothing could be easier than is!

And if you don't know this about me.. I have some kind of obsession with birds. So I am loving all the new bird fabrics and anything done with birds.. And this fireplace is so beautiful. When I get my camera back today.. I will post again with some apron pictues and also show you my art like this on my kitchen at the moment.. It has been there for about 5 years.. It is not this pretty, but I should of known maybe I was onto something a long time ago.. again I missed the boat.

And this I just LOVE.. I mean the colors the bedroom and the chandelier wall thingy.. These come in a ton of colors and designs.. If you want some.. go to http://www.etsy.com/ and type in vinyl wall art stencils.. and watch the ideas pop up on your screen.

Have a great day. and I will be back later when I get my camera back! I feel like I have lost a part of myself without that thing. ~Mechelle
