Just Words

Once again Happy New Year!

I apologize again for NO pictures.. I did find my camera, but my laptop is being fixed and I am using one of those "tiny" laptops and it has NO speed and my pictures will not upload to blogger and it takes like 15 minutes to tell you that..so Sorry, today it is just words...

As I sit and write this, I am at my kitchen table.. just finished a grand dinner... Appetizers.. You always say, "I could make a meal out of just appetizers" well today we did. The kids loved it and so did I. Easy cooking. Try it, throw all the "healthy" out for one night and just do it!

I started my day, a little on the lazy side, sleeping in. That was nice. But one thought came to my mind as I fully awoke.. an old memory. I was raised by my grandparents..(long story) anyway, my grandma was the BEST gift I was given as a child! And to this day I will say I knew that and still believe in my heart I was sent here so she and I could forever have a bond that not even death, can touch!
She was a sweet, religious, country raised loveable woman, that God broke the mold of after he made her, we would tell her this and she would blush!
Every New Years Day, she would call all her 8 kids and make sure they all stopped by that day if possible, even if only for a minute..and if they could not, she made sure she talked to each one of them on the phone.

She always said that what ever did on New Years day, you would do all year long..So she wanted to make sure all her kids came to see her, so they would come all year long.. Now back then, I thought that was silly, but man I would give anything at all to be able to of had that on my "to do" list for today. I would love to of got that phone call this morning asking me.. "Shelly Mae, when are you coming down to visit with me? You have to come and see me, so you will come all year" Yes, Shelly Mae.. and my name is not Mae, but my a nick name she gave me...

She is buried to far away for a quick trip, but I will continue to think of her daily and how she blessed my life each day and how any and all good in me, came from her Love and Devotion she had for me and for our whole family! Happy New Year Mamaw!

Since I did not visit my grandma what did I do? well I did dishes, looked at the mess in the house and put off cleaning it for yet another day! And my husband surprised me with going to the grocery store with me.. that is HUGE in this house.. He goes once or twice a year..tries not to go alone and looks like a scared animal once inside.. But then is quickly amazed at the pretty packages of food and how many choices there are inside. What he does not seem to notice are all the other MEN there shopping as well..ALONE but still..this is an area he will go alone... An area to be worked on this year for sure.

I won't keep you on here all night.. but I wanted to mention my new beginnings this year....
I am going to work harder at growing my business locally and do more shows.
I am going to try to post on a daily basis on here.
I am going to talk more of the daily struggles of being a parent, wife and all the other hats we all wear! And want to share more craft, sewing things for you and your family to do together and show more of what I do.
I also will be offering all my goodies at very reasonable prices in my etsy shop. Why should pretty be exspensive too?
I want to do more give aways, because they are just fun!
I want to be a better, mom, wife and friend and really give back this year! Because that is where happiness is.. giving, not receiving.

So here's to you that follow me and who's comments I LOVE to read! I wish you all, all your heart needs to make your life rich in love! Let's all have the best year ever!

Love,
Mechelle

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year!

WOW have I been missing or what? To call me a "bad blogger" is being easy on me!

We have had so much going on since Thanksgiving and have been non stop. Between work, sewing, school, and kids being sick, I feel like I have hardly had time to breath.

Now that I have time to get back to blogging.. I can not find my camera! So as soon as I clear off my desk and find it, I have some great things to post.. and I PROMISE to get back to daily postings or at least every other day!

I am in the process of organizing and cleaning up after Christmas!
I just wanted to drop a note, say Hello, wish you all a Wonderful Safe New Year and get the music back on my blog..
Hopefully I have not lost all my readers ??!!

Have a great night!

The Missing Blogger

I have been a bad slacking blogger.. and I apologize.. Don't you hate going back to check a bloggers page and it has not been updated in FOREVER? You know you think.. "where is she? what is she doing" OK, so I have been that person... We have had so much going on.. But let's start with Rosie here.. My dress form.. My girls have decided to take her into their room and display her in there.. This what they did to her.. gave her a face, some hip clothes..

Poor Rosie... an early dismisal from school.. and four girls in one room with clothes and accessories.. she will never be mine again.. But I do love the face they made for her too..

And this is what else has been keeping me busy.. The new booth space! Very Very empty in this photo.. but I have been slowly filling it up.. Going tomorrow to take some aprons, key chains and other goodies.. I will keep posting photos as it gets done, and FULL.

This chair.. this beautiful MINT slipper chair.. I found for $8.00 It is now at my booth. Look at the scallopped edges.. I just love them!

Got some new fabrics in.. and they are now aprons, and some pillows for my sofa too!

This.???.well on Halloween night we were trick or treating.. and a friend of ours had this out to the trash.. I had to have it.. So I asked if I could drag it to the side of their house and pick it up the next day. My husband at first could not believe I was even wanting this.. and again missing the whole "vision" I had.. My husband just finished painting it back on the outside and I am taking it to my booth too. I am going to display pillows in it.. but I think it would be a FAB cooler.. It even has drain holes and the stoppers and it is on wheels too! I don't know how but I totally forgot to take the after shot.. guess I will post that later.. but not bad for FREE!

And while out junking one day I found these old windows. They had $10.00 each on them and I went in to bargin and the lady said, "they are now $1.00 each if you take them today" and I said "SOLD" I took all 5 of them...I LOVE old windows.

And this is what I am doing with them.. I LOVE this look! goes with anything and adds a great pop of color too!

Well back to sewing.. It will be a late one tonight.. and a lot of running around tomorrow.. But I have to ask is anyone else loving the Christmas music on? I am just loving it. It is putting me in a great mood and I am getting a ton done listening to it... Have a great week!

Fun New Stuff and ANOTHER Give Away

So your thinking... Why is she posting pictures of vintage silver lids? Well have you ever picked up something that your mind said "these are lids" but your "creative mind" said, "two of them, oh yea... they can be used as coat hangers or hangers for anything!"

Can you see it? I am leaving them as is and finding a place to hang them near my front door. They are not your typical coat hangers, but that is why I like them so much.

If you follow my blog you know we recently moved.. Well everyone should take an old momento from their old place.. so I took the address.. they were putting up a new one, and it was going to be tossed so my old address has a "new home" in the kitchen. It reminds me that change is good.

I had to show you this cool clock.. It is not vintage.. but made to look this way.. Got it at T.J. Maxx for $12.00. What a deal! It too will be going in my kitchen.. Starting to get a theme in there... hmmmmm

These will soon be my new pillows for my living room..

This is a vintage fabric I picked up early spring at a flea market.. Love the birds and colors!

A few new purses, will be in the etsy store in the moring.... $15.00

Amy Butler Fabric.. These bags are great to grab and go around town.. you can stick a ton of things in there. I love the one I carry.

And yes, more of my addiction fabric.. Jennifer Paganelli's fabric..If there is a support group for her fabric line, I will be the first to sign up!

On a recent run to a nearby antique mall.. I found something like this.. The gal wanted almost $50.00 for it and of coarse I said, "I can make that" and I did.. These are vintage word flash cards. They are simple, but unique and are in my etsy store now for $20.00 framed.. What neat gift idea. Perfect daily inspirtation for you or a dear friend.

My Favorite that I did today..this patchwork window. WOW I love the colors.. and I have a serious addiction to old windows and doors too. All done up with Amy Butler Fabric.. Another fabirc lover of mine.. This is in my etsy shop for $55.00 and I will be doing lots more.. Hope you like it.

So the Give Away you ask? Well I am giving away one framed vintage flash card saying.. I will even let you pick the saying once you win.. So I will custom make it for you!

All you have to do is just leave me a comment, with your email address and the drawing will be Sunday November 1st, at 8:00 pm. I love doing give aways.. spread the word, post it on your blog, let me know you did it and you will be entered twice, and if you win.. then you will get a extra special surprise with your gift!

Have a great creative week!
